Ballyhack Castle is located on a steep slope in a commanding position overlooking Waterford estuary. The castle is thought to have been built c. 1450 by the Knights Hospitallers of St. John, a military order founded at the time of the Crusades. It also sits adjacent to one of the countries most beautiful little fishing harbours where in the evening time you can sit and have a pint of the “black stuff” in Byrnes Pub and enjoy the sun setting in the distance
